Continuous moisture control for small living spaces

The Eva-Dry EDV-1200 Mini Electric Dehumidifier is designed for continuous moisture control in small, everyday living areas. Compact and energy-efficient, it offers a simple plug-in solution for spaces where steady humidity management is preferred.

⚡ Use it as a 12V dehumidifier
With the optional EDV-12V Power Cord, the EDV-1200 can run on a standard 12V DC cigarette lighter outlet — perfect for RVs, boats, vehicles, and camping setups where household power isn't available. Note: after any power interruption, the EDV-1200 needs to be manually turned back on — it does not restart automatically. For spaces you can't check on regularly, keep this in mind when planning unattended storage.

Why it fits your space

The EDV-1200 is well suited for occupied rooms that benefit from ongoing, low-profile moisture control.

Common uses include:

• Bedrooms

• Kitchens

• Home offices

• Laundry areas

• Small living spaces

Its compact design allows it to blend naturally into daily environments without drawing attention.

How it works

The EDV-1200 uses electric dehumidification technology to remove excess moisture from the air and collect it in an internal water reservoir. It operates continuously while plugged in, eliminating the need for recharge cycles.

When the reservoir reaches capacity, the unit automatically shuts off for added convenience.

Designed for quiet, efficient operation

• Continuous electric operation

• Low energy consumption at 22.5 watts

• Quiet performance suitable for living spaces

• Compact footprint

• Automatic shutoff when the water tank is full

• Manual restart required after a power interruption — not intended for unattended storage where power loss could go unnoticed for long periods

• Simple, straightforward operation

The EDV-1200 is designed to work quietly in the background, supporting comfortable humidity levels with minimal interaction.

This dehumidifier doesn't work, as verified by an external hygrometer. I tried to initiate a return via email and was told to call - there is no streamlined process, so now I have to block out time in my schedule to call them.

Hi there, we're sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your feedback. Please contact our customer service team so we can assist you with a resolution. We aim to make returns easier and will look into your concerns. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Packs a punch considering its compact design

The master bedroom has a musty closed-room smell throughout. The EDV-1200 ran for six weeks with minimal improvement. The space is too large and too trafficked. Two stars — effective product, wrong application.

YasukoVidalPro

Dry walls, no a damp-paper smell, no noise. The home office has been this way for 2 months.

A
AlleneDenholm

Works exactly as described in the safe room. That airless staleness — sorted. Four stars — the tank is full every two days in humid months; a deeper reservoir would be welcome.

The cylinder form factor was the tiebreaker. A damp feel to the bedding in the camper bedroom — cleared. No regrets.

A
AnkorHenriksen23

The cylinder on the camper bedroom looks like a Bluetooth speaker. A damp feel to the bedding — sorted without an ugly appliance.

Does the job in the camper bedroom. Looks good doing it. A damp feel to the bedding — sorted.

Finally a dehumidifier I don't mind on the camper bedroom. A musty closed-room smell — gone. Sleeps silently beside me.

Works. Looks good. Silent. A musty closed-room smell in the camper bedroom — cleared.

Used the EDV-1200 in a detached garage through a cold winter. Temperatures inside dropped to around 35°F at night. Peltier units stop working effectively below about 55°F. The unit ran all winter and the tank barely filled. One star for a cold-weather application that is entirely outside this technology's operating range. The cylinder design was the deciding factor.

We appreciate the honest feedback. The EDV-1200 performs best in sealed, heated spaces — for garages, workshops, or any space with significant air exchange, a compressor-based or rotary desiccant unit is the right tool. The EDV-4000 is specifically designed for larger spaces and works at much lower temperatures. We're sorry the mismatch caused frustration and are happy to assist in finding the right fit. — Eva-Dry Support

The laundry room is marginally better. A musty room smell — eased over six weeks. Three stars — I expected faster results at 1,200 cubic feet. The design is excellent; the output rate less impressive.

Sorted condensation on inner walls in the gun safe completely. Four stars — the 30 oz tank fills in about two days in summer. A larger tank would mean less frequent emptying.

A
AbramSimmonds01

The cylinder looks great on the gun safe. A musty sealed-safe smell — handled. Four stars only because I want a continuous-drain option — emptying the 30 oz tank manually gets old.

The basement bedroom is dry. A stuffy overnight dampness — sorted. The cylinder sits on the shelf looking intentional.

Stumbled across the EDV-1200 looking for a quiet option for the basement bedroom. A stuffy overnight dampness — cleared. Perfect match.

Tank-full indicator is clearly visible from across the basement bedroom. Easy maintenance. A damp feel to the bedding — sorted.

Works. Looks good. Silent. Condensation on the window in the basement bedroom — cleared.

Two summers in the basement bedroom. A damp feel to the bedding — cleared both. The EDV-1200 just keeps going.

The bathroom is drier after three months. A sticky feel to surfaces — cleared. Three stars because results came very slowly and cold weather noticeably reduced output. Fine for gradual maintenance.

A
AmrutaWiseman007

Partial credit: the bathroom improved in summer. A sticky feel to surfaces — clearing. The same space in winter — very little collection despite high humidity. Peltier efficiency is temperature-dependent. Three stars.

Thank you for the detailed review. You've correctly identified the main limitation of Peltier technology — efficiency drops significantly below 55–60°F. For year-round use in spaces that get cold, our EDV-4000 rotary desiccant model operates effectively down to 34°F and doesn't share this limitation. For heated spaces the EDV-1200 will continue to perform well. We appreciate you explaining this clearly for other buyers. — Eva-Dry Support

Excellent for the cabin bedroom. A stuffy overnight dampness — sorted. Four stars because I expected auto-restart based on other Eva-Dry models. It's not there on the EDV-1200.

Told three friends about this for their basement bedroom humidity issues. All sorted. A stuffy overnight dampness — gone.

Received as a gift. Tried it in the basement bedroom. A stuffy overnight dampness — sorted. Buying more for other rooms.

30 oz tank lasts a few days in the basement bedroom. Empty it, restart, done. A musty closed-room smell — consistently cleared.

The basement bedroom is the driest it's been. Condensation on the window — cleared. The cylinder sits there quietly looking good.

Installed in a large utility room housing a washing machine and dryer — roughly 1,300 cubic feet but with active moisture generation from daily laundry cycles. The steam from drying overwhelms what a passive Peltier unit can remove. One star — the active moisture load from appliances exceeds the unit's passive removal capacity. Keeps the space dry without any fuss.

Thank you for sharing your experience. You're right that the EDV-1200 is designed for sealed spaces up to 1,200 cubic feet — for open-plan areas, spaces with active moisture sources, or cold environments below 55°F, we'd recommend the EDV-2400 (with humidistat and drain hose) or the EDV-4000 (our rotary desiccant model, which works at temperatures down to 34°F). We're sorry the unit wasn't the right match for your space. Please reach out to our support team and we'll help find the right solution. — Eva-Dry Support

Three stars for the walk-in closet application. Works in warm conditions but Peltier output is modest. A musty fabric smell reduced over many weeks — not eliminated quickly. Lower your expectations on speed.

No a stuffy overnight dampness in the camper bedroom. The cylinder design blends in. 35dB is genuinely inaudible at night.
