Eva-Dry EDV-1100 Petite Electric Dehumidifier

Way to small for a tiny room, you have to empty it daily!

This review applies to all the products I purchased from Eva-Dry in 2017. After nearly 10 years of operation, I am grateful for the amount of stress and work this product has saved me. I live in a 80-year-old house with no climate control built on a concrete slab in a wooded area with a high water table and a humid climate. Removing summertime humidity without generating heat is invaluable. Starting the year I put the products in place, the constant stuggle to prevent mildew ended. My favorite is the large EVA Thermal Electric (EVA-2500?), which seems to have been updated (EVA-2400). My unit literally has been running constantly in my piano studio for nine years. I had to take it apart to clean the dust from the fan to get it to run quietly again this year, and I wish I could open the water collection tank to clean it, but I cannot describe how wonderful it is to know my Steinway is safe from the harms of dampness!

My EDV-1100 (still the same) has also been running constantly in my guest bedroom. And the renewable closet units still refresh well when necessary. Further, I have since found a copycat Ambiano product at ALDI, which I tried out of curiosity and which doesn't begin to compare to the quality of Eva-Dry.

Thank you Eva-Dry. You have saved me countless hours of monitoring and mitigation and my home interior is clean and mildew-damage free, still after all these years.

I bought an earlier version of this dehumidifier about ten years ago for my bathroom and it worked great. It stopped working recently so I ordered another one. This version is louder and much less efficient.
